The nursery Elmegaard Andersen works mainly with breeding and seed production of perennials, vegetables and flowers.
The nursery is now run by the third generation of the family.
The nursery is located on a small island in the Great Belt called Agersø. There are several reasons why Agersø is very suitable for seed production:
Its located in the sunny corner of Denmark – Skælskør is the country’s sunniest city.
It has small rainfall.
Plus, the location in the Great Belt reduces frost and gives a mild autumn.
